We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional with a background in engineering to help drive financial decision-making, improve operational efficiency, and contribute to our company's growth.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure.
Prepare short and long-term financial forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties.
Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with outside audit firms and review firms' performance.
Develop, implement and maintain accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting, employee relations (hiring/terminating policies) and other corporate policies.
Proficiency in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Responsible for all corporate and human resource activities including employee benefits, retirement plans, corporate insurance and related activities.
This includes the coordination of these activities with all satellite offices as well.
You must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Experience in the retail and furniture industry is a plus.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business.
CPA, CMA or other financial certifications are a plus.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the engineering industry.
Proven expertise in finance management, evaluation, and swift decision-making.
Proficient in automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
A proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization.
Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
Superior management skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers.
Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, board of directors and staff.
Ability to operate as an effective tactical as well as strategic thinker.
Experience in the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliation, month-end, year-end, monthly budgets, sales reports, expense reports, and internal audits.
Strong knowledge of AP and AR management.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
